Non League Podcast Episode 78 Available To Download

The latest episode of the podcast is now available to download.

This week, we open with the only topic we can: the tragic events of Saturday at the Shoreham Air Show. As we do on the show, we all pay our heartfelt respect and best wishes not only to the friends, family, colleagues and teammates of the two Worthing United players, Matthew Grimstone and Jacob Schlit, who were killed on their way to play for the club against Loxwood.

Elsewhere, Kristan’s club Gainsborough Trinity beat AFC Telford 2-0 last Saturday, a defeat which has cost Telford manager Steve Kittrick his job.

We also revisit the Farnborough situation, as they pay their £30,000 bond, but then varied the terms of the CVA without notifying the Isthmian League. The club have been charged because of this, and their games are still being postponed.

The FA Cup First Qualifying Round draw has been made, and the PDF can be downloaded by clicking here. The winners at this round will pick up three thousand pounds.

There is also the weekly look at the hattrick heroes, including the team who had two players score hattricks in a 7-1 win, and even better two players who each scored four times in a 9-0 thumping!

Rob had to disappear before the end of the show, supposedly to spend time with his wife, but we all know it was to avoid having to explain his @RabidRobo twitter in the absence of an And Finally!

To listen to the show, either stream it on the website, or subscribe on iTunes. And if you do subscribe, please leave us a rating and review as it helps other people find us.

Thanks for listening!

About James Bartaby

Hey, I'm James and I'm relatively new to non-league football, having only taken in my first match in September 2011. Despite it being a 0-4 defeat for Hampton & Richmond Borough, I became a huge fan of the club and NL in general. So much so that they are now the first club that I mention when talking about which team I support! I just got massively disillusioned with top flight football in this country and the attitudes of the lawmakers and top clubs in general, and I wanted to start taking my son to see decent football. I am now the club's Deputy Press Officer, and loving every minute!
