Hayes & Yeading United on Signing Spree

Phil Babb has been busy in the last couple of days, signing no fewer than six players to bolster his Conference South side.

The most recent to sign are Luke Williams and Jim Fenlon. Williams is a fan favourite at the club, having already spent three spells with them, making 125 appearances along the way. He joins the club following his departure from Isthmian Premier title chasers Margate. Fenlon is a former AFC Wimbledon defender, who has also played for Ross County.

Also joining this week are: Nicholas Bignall, a striker who has joined from Sutton United, Tom Derry (Aldershot), Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe (Aveley), and Charlie Mitchell who has moved up from the under-18 squad.

I am familiar with Bignall, as he spent a short time with Hampton & Richmond Borough earlier this season, scoring a spectacular goal in his first match against a Tottenham XI.

All should prove to be excellent signings for Babb, as he looks to move away from the Conference South dropzone.

About James Bartaby

Hey, I'm James and I'm relatively new to non-league football, having only taken in my first match in September 2011. Despite it being a 0-4 defeat for Hampton & Richmond Borough, I became a huge fan of the club and NL in general. So much so that they are now the first club that I mention when talking about which team I support! I just got massively disillusioned with top flight football in this country and the attitudes of the lawmakers and top clubs in general, and I wanted to start taking my son to see decent football. I am now the club's Deputy Press Officer, and loving every minute!
